MINUTES The meeting was held at St. Sebastian Church on October 08, 2008. Pat Kelley called the meeting to order at approximately 7:10 p.m. Attending were Board Members, Pat and Glenda Kelley, Dick and Genia Ellis, Jennifer Yevoli, Melissa Donoho, and Cheryl Abernethey. (8 residents from the community including Fleming Andersen (M), Kathleen Ginestra (M), Nancy Thomas (NM), Maria Rogers (M), Ben Guenther (M), Doug Birer (M), Helga Grabner (M) & Susan Poiselli (M). Sgt. Hoover of FLPD was a guest.
Meeting Minutes: Pat Kelley made a motion to accept the last quarterly meeting minutes, Genia seconded the motion and the motion was approved as corrected; Kathleen (rather than Kathy) Ginestra. Police Update: Sgt. Hoover reported six incidents in the last 45 days; 3 burglaries, 2 larcenies and 1 break in to an unlocked car. NCIP Grant Application: Genia reported that the grant has been submitted for the gate arms for the entry way and speed tables (traffic calming devices). Genia made a motion to use the allocated monies left over from the original estimate for future maintenance ($8,000 original, $5,900 estimated with $2,100 in reserve for repairs). Glenda seconded the motion and it was approved. Lago Mar re-development: The development has been approved and is moving forward. Pier 66 changes: Changes have been approved with a 2 foot change in height. Halloween party: Cheryl reported that this year there will be traditional Trick or Treating with a party at St. Sebastian to follow from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. The Association will provide Macaroni and cheese and covered dishes will be provided by members. Candidates forums: there will be candidate forums for the upcoming election at City Hall sponsored by the Council of Fort Lauderdale Civic Associations on January 29 and February 26, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Commission Chamber. Citizens Volunteer Corp project at South Middle River Civic Association on October 25, 2008 allows Harbour Inlet to earn points. Flyer attached to agenda.
Block Party: The block party was a great success, thanks to the many volunteers and great covered dishes. An estimated 80 + people attended and the weather cooperated! Tree Planting: All the trees requested from the City have now been requested and/or planted. Code Enforcement: You can go the City of Ft. Lauderdales Code tracker on the internet for updates. Gate house clean-up: Many thanks to Ben Gunther and company for the great job of making our gate house presentable!
